A recidivist has been detained in Kyiv for robbing an apartment in the Dnipro district.

The suspect, who has prior convictions for similar crimes, faces up to eight years in prison.

According to law enforcement information, a 33-year-old resident of the Dnipro district contacted the police to report a burglary in his apartment. The man explained that while he was at work, an unknown individual managed to pick the locks and gain access to his home. The intruder stole gold jewelry, money, and bank cards.

Investigators quickly identified the suspect. He turned out to be a 34-year-old resident of the Volyn region who had come to Kyiv for work and was temporarily staying in a hostel.

A criminal case was initiated for the burglary involving unlawful entry during a state of martial law. The suspect has been formally charged.
