People's Deputy Marianna Bezuhlaya shared a document on Facebook that references monetary bonuses, which she referred to as "general's bonuses." The Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Oleksiy Neizhpapa, commented on the situation through his Facebook page, explaining the use of the annual bonus fund.
"I saw a mention of myself in one of the documents released on social media... To support the military personnel, the Law of Ukraine 'On the Disciplinary Statute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine' provides mechanisms for rewards, which include monetary bonuses. And this is not just a formal reward, but a way to express gratitude for their loyalty, persistence, and desire to be a reliable support for our state," Neizhpapa wrote.
He clarified that as the head of the Navy, he has the authority to reward military personnel with monetary payments based on the recommendations of commanders. Last year, according to him, 223 military personnel of various ranks, including sailors, sergeants, petty officers, and officers, received bonuses from a fund totaling 1.2 million hryvnias.
"Under my command are tens of thousands of military personnel, and our priority is to act in the interest of their well-being. We approach this matter responsibly and transparently. Therefore, there is no need to look for betrayal where it does not exist. As for my income in the position of Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, all of it is reflected in the official declaration, which is available for public viewing," he added.
In response to his message, Bezuhlaya expressed her gratitude but also raised a question about the criteria used for distributing funds from the bonus fund. So far, no comment has been received from Neizhpapa.
Let us remind you of the case regarding the inadequate defense of Kharkiv region: a bail of five million hryvnias was posted for General Halushkin.
