This was reported by SBI.

The incident occurred at the end of last year when the company commander refused to follow an order to transfer his unit to the operational control of another unit. Instead, he ordered his soldiers to flee unarmed. He himself left the place of duty, violating the fundamental rules of military discipline.

The suspect was detained today in the Rivne region. Following this, the company commander was taken to Kyiv, where he was informed of the suspicion under Articles 402 and 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for the unlawful abandonment of his post and refusal to obey an order.

According to the penalties of these articles, the punishment can be imprisonment for up to 10 years. The court has decided to impose a measure of restraint in the form of detention with the possibility of bail.

We remind you that the Rada adopted a law simplifying the process of obtaining citizenship for spouses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On January 8, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed Bill No. 12032, which eases the citizenship acquisition process for spouses of Ukrainian military personnel.
