Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police have thwarted a heinous crime: an assassination attempt on the First Deputy Minister of Health, Sergey Dubrov. Following a series of comprehensive measures, law enforcement apprehended two residents of the Kyiv region who were plotting to eliminate the official. This information has been reported by the SBU.
The suspects monitored their target for several months, studying his daily routine and travel routes. Investigators discovered that the accused were actively practicing shooting at a private range, preparing themselves for the crime. Subsequently, they began searching for a firearms dealer on the black market.
At the moment when one of the perpetrators was handing over money for a pistol with the intent to commit murder, law enforcement officials arrested them. The operation to detain them was carried out "in the act," as the criminals were planning to finalize their preparations for the assassination.
Currently, the suspects have been informed of their suspicion under Part 1 of Article 14 (preparation for a crime) and Part 1 of Article 115 (intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face up to 15 years in prison. Law enforcement is now considering the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspects.
It is worth noting that in Bila Tserkva, teenagers brutally beat a girl: the police are investigating the incident. In Bila Tserkva, the Kyiv region police are looking into the assault of a 12-year-old girl by teenagers. According to preliminary information, she was injured by three minors, and a criminal case has already been initiated.
