In Odessa, a woman was caught selling fake documents to draft dodgers, leading to the discovery of $110,000 and 2.5 kg of gold.

Odessa law enforcement officials have uncovered a local resident who organized a criminal scheme to help conscripts avoid mobilization and illegally cross the state border. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

According to the investigation, the woman offered to produce counterfeit documents for a fee, allowing conscripted men to legally leave the country. Her scheme involved the creation of a fictitious birth certificate for a non-existent child. To attract clients, an advertisement was placed in the Telegram messenger. The cost of such "services" was 14,500 hryvnias.

As part of the criminal proceedings, investigators conducted authorized searches, during which they discovered and seized:

• more than 270 counterfeit seals of enterprises, institutions, and organizations,
• document templates, including birth certificates,
• mobile phones and computer equipment used to produce the fakes,
• nearly 110 thousand US dollars,
• gold bars weighing a total of 2.5 kg,
• other material evidence.

Currently, a decision is being made regarding the preventive measure for the suspect. Law enforcement is identifying all individuals involved in the organization and functioning of this scheme.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 in cooperation with several agencies:

• The West Regional Office of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine,
• The Migration Police of Lviv Region,
• The Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.

It should be reminded that according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
