Another scheme for evading mobilization in Ukraine has been uncovered. Under the procedural guidance of the Special Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Western region, six members of a criminal group have been charged. The operation revealed abuses among officials, medical personnel, and even former law enforcement officers. This was reported by the Office of the Attorney General.
According to the investigation, the criminal scheme operated from August 2023 and was aimed at assisting those liable for military service in evading mobilization by falsifying medical documents. The group included the head of the military enlistment office, a member of the military medical commission, the head of a hospital department, two former law enforcement officers, and a civilian.
The main scheme involved the forgery of medical certificates documenting fictitious psychological disorders, as well as providing false diagnoses of unfitness for military service. With these documents, the "mobilized" individuals could obtain so-called "white tickets" and leave the country without fulfilling their military duty during the war.
The cost of services for evading mobilization ranged from 9,000 to 14,000 US dollars. The criminals received money for fake medical documents that allowed individuals to avoid conscription. Law enforcement has already recorded two instances of money transfers, totaling 18,000 dollars.
Currently, the activities of the suspects are under investigation, particularly their involvement in similar crimes, and searches and examinations of medical documentation are being conducted. Additionally, measures are being considered to impose restrictions on the accused and to suspend them from their positions.
