The number of battles has increased on the front lines, according to the General Staff.

Over the past day, there have been 148 combat clashes reported at the front. This is an increase from the previous days (138). This information was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 4.

In the last 24 hours, aviation, missile troops, and artillery of the defense forces hit four areas of troop and equipment concentration, a command and observation point, as well as an air defense system of the Russian invaders.

According to the General Staff, yesterday the enemy launched four missile strikes and 64 airstrikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, using 11 missiles and dropping 95 guided aerial bombs, in addition to deploying 2,257 kamikaze drones. Furthermore, the enemy carried out nearly five thousand shellings, of which 230 were from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

The aggressor conducted airstrikes, particularly in the areas of the settlements of Hremiachka, Khotivka, Semenivka, Popivka, Oleksandrivka, Zhuravka, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Zelene Pole, Hrodovka, Myrnohrad, Kotlyne, Pokrovsk, Novoandriivka, Novopillia, Konstantynivka, Vole Pole, Shcherbaky, Lobkovo, Novodanylivka, Stepnohirsk.

In the Kharkiv direction, our forces repelled two enemy attacks in the vicinity of Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, there were seven attacks by the occupiers in the past day. The defense forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near Kucheriivka, Synkivka, and Zahryzove.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 11 times. They attempted to advance near Nadiia, Makeivka, Hryhorivka, Tverdokhlibove, Yampolivka, and in the direction of Chernishyna, Zeleny Dolyna.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked our defenders' positions twice near the settlement of Bilohorivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, 10 combat clashes were recorded in the regions of Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and in the direction of Predtechyne and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy carried out seven attacks near the settlements of Diliivka, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders halted 40 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Vodiane Druhe, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Luch, Novoolexandrivka, Novovasyliivka, Ukraïntsi, Lisovka, Zelenyi, Novyi Trud, Pyschane, Zverove, Solone.

In the Kurakhiv direction, the defense forces repelled 11 attacks on our troops' positions near Petropavlivka, Serebrianka, Kurakhove, and Shevchenko.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy conducted 11 offensive actions against the positions of Ukrainian units near Yantarnyi and in the direction of Konstantynivka and Novosilka.

In the Orikhiv direction, our forces repelled one enemy attack near the settlement of Novoandriivka. The enemy's aviation was actively operating in the area.

In the Dnipro direction, Russian invaders unsuccessfully attempted to storm our units' positions twice.

In the operational zone in the Kursk region, the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 41 attacks by Russian invaders in the past day. Additionally, the enemy launched three missile strikes and 10 airstrikes, using three missiles and 15 guided bombs, and conducted 357 artillery shellings of our troops' positions and populated areas.

In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy did not conduct any assault actions in the past day.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions, there are no signs of the enemy forming offensive groupings.

Along the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy is actively using artillery and aviation from Russian territory against the areas of Ukrainian settlements.

We remind you that the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated 1,510 Russian occupiers in one day. The total combat losses of the enemy from February 24, 2022, to January 4, 2025, are estimated to be around 794,760 personnel.

As reported, the most "heated" areas remain Pokrovsk and the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
