Due to a massive enemy shelling on November 17, two railway workers lost their lives in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Additionally, several railway sections in the south, west, and northeast of Ukraine were left without power, reported Ukrzaliznytsia.
"We have sad news from Dnipropetrovsk. As a result of enemy shelling at the depot, two railway workers were killed. Three of our colleagues were injured, and their condition is currently stable," the company emphasized.
As of 9:42 AM, trains were running with delays: No. 51 Zaporizhzhia – Odesa; No. 207 Kharkiv – Odesa; No. 25/135 Yasinia, Chernivtsi – Odesa; No. 78 Kovel – Odesa; No. 87 Zaporizhzhia – Kovel; No. 59 Kharkiv – Odesa.
By 10:20 AM, all passenger trains had resumed their journeys.
"The de-energized sections of the tracks have been connected to neighboring substations, and most trains continue to operate on standard electric locomotives. In areas where power has not yet been restored, trains are being operated by backup diesel locomotives," Ukrzaliznytsia added.
Recall that on Sunday, November 17, Russian troops launched a massive air attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles.
Due to the aerial assault by the Russians, emergency power outages have been implemented in Ukraine.
