The former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukraine's Ambassador to the UK, Valeriy Zaluzhny, addressed the British Parliament. He wrote about this on Telegram.
"This is a critical moment for Ukraine! We are grateful to the UK for its unwavering support, as it remains one of our closest allies in the fight for the independence of our state and in ensuring stability in Europe," he noted during a roundtable discussion on "British-Ukrainian Cooperation in the Defense Sector and Common Threats."
Zaluzhny stated that Ukraine's success hinges on consistent support in the defense sector, strengthening defense capabilities for the long term, and developing a plan for post-war recovery.
"I mentioned that collaboration in defense production between our countries will enable us to respond to challenges more swiftly, reduce costs, and most importantly — save the lives of our people," the diplomat emphasized.
Zaluzhny also expressed gratitude to British partners for their support and willingness to build a future together with Ukraine, adding that together "we will create a new, peaceful, and stable world for future generations."
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine received 83% of the promised ammunition and 67% of air defense systems from the US. Since April, Ukraine has received thousands of shells, armored vehicles, and rockets for HIMARS, as well as dozens of artillery systems, hundreds of air defense missiles, a Patriot battery, and other systems from the US.
