The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police continue their active fight against draft evasion and illegal border crossings. Recently, six new schemes were dismantled, through which conscription-age men attempted to avoid military service. As a result of comprehensive measures, 10 organizers of these illegal operations have been detained. This information was reported by the SSU.

The amount of bribes paid by draft dodgers ranged from $3,000 to $20,000. For this money, the organizers offered their clients various ways to avoid conscription, using forged documents.

Chernigiv Region: A local city council member was exposed for facilitating the illegal enrollment of men in college, allowing them to obtain a deferral from mobilization as candidates for higher vocational education.

Khmelnytskyi Region: In Khmelnytskyi, the head of the district recruitment center was detained for "helping" conscripts avoid mobilization through fake medical certificates.

Donetsk Region: In Donetsk Oblast, the head of the district military enlistment office was uncovered for canceling the mandatory registration of draft dodgers using false documents.

Sumy Region: In Sumy, two founders of a charitable foundation were producing fake documents for crossing the border under the guise of volunteers.

Odesa Region: In the city of Odesa, two officials, a former deputy head of the state seaport and a current employee, were detained for selling fake disability certificates that allowed draft dodgers to evade conscription.

Cherkasy: In Cherkasy, a repeat offender was detained who, posing as a military officer, offered draft dodgers hospitalization with fake severe diagnoses, based on which men were "removed" from military registration.

The detained individuals have been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including:

Part 1 of Article 114-1 (interference with the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine);

Part 3 of Article 368 (receiving illegal benefits by an official);

Part 3 of Article 332 (illegal transportation of persons across the state border);

Part 1 of Article 366 (service forgery);

Part 4 of Article 368-3 (bribery of an official);

Parts 2, 3 of Article 369-2 (abuse of influence).

Under current legislation, the detained individuals face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
