Trump Issues Tough Statement to Russia   U.S. President Donald Trump urged the Russian leadership to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine, warning that otherwise he would impose "high taxes, tariffs, and sanctions." He made this statement on the social media platform Truth Social. "I am going to do a huge favor for Russia, whose economy is collapsing, and 'President' Putin. Make a deal now and end this senseless war! It will only get worse," Trump declared. According to him, the war can be ended "the easy way or the hard way - and the easy way is always better."   NATO Assesses Russia's Offensive Potential   The aggressor country Russia currently lacks the military potential for a rapid offensive in Ukraine due to issues with manpower. This was stated by U.S. General Christopher Cavoli, commander of NATO's joint forces in Europe, during a discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Cavoli believes that this year there will be significantly more small offensive actions in the war. He noted, "We will continue to see this tension between the desire to advance and the lack of manpower on the Russian side." He considers it unlikely that the U.S. will stop aiding Kyiv. At the same time, Cavoli pointed out a "very significant increase" in European aid being sent to Ukraine, particularly regarding ammunition. He added that he expects further increases in support for Kyiv from Europe.   Russia Strikes Zaporizhzhia: Damage and Casualties Reported   Explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia on Thursday night amid reports of ballistic threats. Residential buildings were damaged as a result of the strike. As of five in the morning, there were reports of 16 injured, including a two-month-old baby and four emergency service workers. Five of the injured are in serious condition.   Russia Occupies Novovasilivka - DeepState   Russian occupiers have seized Novovasilivka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region and advanced near Velyka Novosilka, Novoandriivka, close to Chasiv Yar, Yantarny, Petropavlivka, Yasenove, Kotlyne, Vozdvizhivka, and Baranivka. This was reported by the analytical project DeepState.   Trump Orders Action on the War in Ukraine - Media   U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed his special representative for Ukraine and Russia, General Keith Kellogg, to end the war in Ukraine within 100 days. The publication notes that Kellogg's role as a special envoy is likely a preliminary step in the peace negotiations that Trump intends to oversee personally.   Zelensky Congratulates on Unity Day   President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Ukrainians at Sofia Square in Kyiv on the occasion of Unity Day of Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of unity among Ukrainians: "In this word - 'together' - lies the hidden strength of Ukrainians. It is about us, about what we are capable of when we choose not our own ambitions but choose Ukraine. We choose its interests. When we choose not discord but dreams. To protect our own." Unity Day of Ukraine is celebrated annually on the day of the proclamation in 1919 of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the West Ukrainian People's Republic. The holiday was officially established in 1999, considering the significant political and historical importance of the unification of the UPR and the WUPR for the creation of a unified (sober) Ukrainian state.   Scholz Announces Discussion on Guarantees for Ukraine   Western countries will soon discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in an interview. He noted that the conversation will focus on how to maintain a strong army in Ukraine, which "we will equip together." "We will discuss this with our allies soon. However, such speculations are prohibited for now. After all, nothing is decided over the heads of the Ukrainian people. And we are still far from peace," the German Chancellor summarized.   Meanwhile, Zelensky stated in an interview with Bloomberg that any international peacekeeping forces that may be deployed in Ukraine in the future must include U.S. troops. He believes that European allies of Ukraine do not have enough soldiers to be a "realistic deterrent" against the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and any other solution "risks creating divisions within NATO."   North Korea Prepares Reinforcements for Troops in Russia - Media   North Korea is preparing reinforcements for its military contingent fighting against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Russia's Kursk region. This was reported by The New York Times, citing a senior Pentagon official. According to him, reinforcements are expected within the next two months.   Zelensky Discusses Investments in Ukraine in Davos   Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with top executives and owners of major American and European companies in Davos, Switzerland. The discussions revolved around all possible ways to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, avenues for assistance, and investments. Zelensky specifically highlighted the achievements of the Ukrainian defense industry. They also discussed cooperation with the agricultural sector, investments in Ukrainian education, energy, and the economy. European and American businessmen assured that they would continue to invest in Ukraine to create new jobs and aid in the economic recovery post-war.
