The US has provided Ukraine with $500 million in weapons   The United States has allocated another military aid package to Ukraine amounting to $500 million. This was announced by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during a Ramstein format meeting. According to the Pentagon, the package includes air defense missiles, equipment for F-16 aircraft, air-to-ground munitions, armored bridge systems, secure communication equipment, small arms, and ammunition.   The Verkhovna Rada approved a law on basic military training   The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on basic military training. It allows young people who are currently turning 18 abroad to register without returning to Ukraine. Under the law, basic military training for women will be voluntary, and subsequent military registration will also be purely voluntary. Basic training will commence on September 1, 2025, and all interested individuals may participate.   Trump announced preparations for a meeting with Putin   US President-elect Donald Trump stated that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants to meet with him. According to him, preparations for the meeting are already underway. Several media outlets interpreted Trump's words as "and we are negotiating this." However, he did not specify a timeframe for the meeting.   Zelensky updated data on North Korean losses in the war   The North Korean army has lost 4,000 soldiers in the war between Russia and Ukraine. This was stated by President Vladimir Zelensky during a meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group. At the same time, he pointed out that North Korea is gaining cheap experience "for the re-export of war, possibly, there in the Indo-Pacific region."   Zelensky called for investments in drone production at Ramstein   President Vladimir Zelensky spoke at a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's defense in the Ramstein format and urged participants to increase involvement in drone production in our country. He emphasized that drone manufacturing in Ukraine is more cost-effective.   Zelensky also stated that Ukraine is doing everything possible to bring the war to a dignified conclusion this year. According to him, one of the best tools for compelling Russia to peace is the initiative to introduce Western troops into Ukraine. Zelensky urged partners to be "more practical" and implement the initiative from France.   Ukraine received a shipment of the latest Lynx armored vehicles   Ukrainian forces have received the latest German Lynx armored vehicles (Lynx). According to a representative of the Rheinmetall concern, this shipment consists of 10 vehicles. The primary armament of the Lynx is the LANCE turret with a 30mm or 35mm gun and a launcher for anti-tank missiles, which can be equipped according to the customer's requirements. The crew consists of three people, and it can carry up to eight soldiers.   Britain is preparing 30,000 drones for Ukraine   Ukraine will receive 30,000 drones from the United Kingdom and other NATO allies. These contracts, worth £45 million (approximately $55.3 million), have been financed by the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, and Sweden.   The Rada voted to reduce fines for not updating data in the military registration office   The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in the first reading a draft law No. 12093, which proposes to grant citizens a 50% discount on fines for updating military registration data "late." The explanatory note to the draft law indicates that in 2024, more than 6,000,000 conscripted citizens did not update their personal information.
