The Japanese Foreign Minister has arrived in Ukraine for an official visit.

This month, Ukraine and the United States confirmed the involvement of North Korean soldiers in combat operations alongside Russia in the western border region of Kursk.

Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya made an unexpected visit to Ukraine for talks with officials. This was reported on Saturday, November 16, by Kyodo.   "This visit aims to demonstrate Tokyo's strong support for Kyiv in its fight against Russian military aggression, which now also involves North Korean troops," the statement said.   It is noted that the minister arrived in Ukraine by train from Poland and plans to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga and likely with President Volodymyr Zelensky.   Kyodo   Japan, along with the United States and other G7 members, has supported Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022, imposing economic sanctions against Russia, including freezing assets and export bans.   The last visit by Japan's foreign minister to Ukraine took place in January of this year when Yoko Kamikawa visited the country. Ishiba's predecessor, Fumio Kishida, made an unexpected visit to Ukraine in March of last year.   Japan will allocate over $3 billion as part of a G7 loan for Ukraine totaling $50 billion, which will be repaid from frozen assets of the Russian central bank.   The US, Japan, and South Korea will conduct large-scale military exercises Freedom Edge.
