Two kilometers from the front lines, 900 people in Kupiansk are living in dire conditions.

The Kupiansk community is facing a critical situation due to the continuous shelling by Russian forces using all available weaponry. This was reported on Saturday, January 4, by the head of the city military administration, Andrey Besedin, during a telethon.   He noted that the front line is currently only two kilometers from the city, complicating the delivery of humanitarian aid and the evacuation of civilians.   "The enemy is close, the front line is two kilometers from the city of Kupiansk. Shelling does not stop from all types of weaponry available to the enemy: mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems of various modifications, guided bombs, and FPV drones, which the enemy uses in large numbers, targeting logistics routes and central supply lines, thereby preventing humanitarian aid from being delivered and hindering the movement of civilians," Besedin stated.   According to him, the situation on the left bank of the Kupiansk community has remained critical for over three months. More than 900 people, mostly elderly individuals, are enduring harsh conditions there, categorically refusing to evacuate.   "There is no electricity, gas, water supply, social services, shops, pharmacies, or hospitals. Over 900 people remain there, mainly elderly individuals, who categorically refuse to leave, living in inhumane conditions," the official described the situation.   It is worth noting that on December 23, the occupiers attempted to expand their foothold on the left bank of the Oskol River in the Kupiansk direction.
