Two Ukrainian soldiers from the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade captured 14 Russian soldiers. This was reported by the brigade's press service on Saturday, January 4. "The assault group of the 79th Airborne Brigade approached one of the Russian positions closely. Prior to this, the pilots of the strike drones successfully engaged the enemy - after an intense and prolonged attack, the occupiers retreated into a cramped bunker and did not dare to show themselves," the statement reads. Consequently, two assault troops from the 79th Brigade achieved complete surprise – they threw grenades directly at the entrance of the enemy bunker. "Frightened occupiers immediately dropped their weapons and raised their hands. By that time, it turned out that there were 14 occupiers at the position. They chose life over death, and our paratroopers did not refuse them," the brigade added. The military released a video detailing this operation and testimonies from the captured Russians. Earlier, two fighters from the 28th Mechanized Brigade captured five enemy assault troops. It was noted that one of the captured soldiers had previously spent about a year in the SBU. It was also reported that the 3rd Special Operations Brigade captured subscribers of its Telegram channel.
