The emergency rescue and search operations in Sumy have concluded following another Russian shelling that claimed the lives of civilians. The death toll has risen to 9. For 19 hours, rescuers worked to clear the debris and recover the bodies from the ruins. This was reported by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko.
Thirteen individuals were injured, including an 8-year-old girl. As a result of the attack, two apartment buildings and more than 20 vehicles were damaged.
The police have already received 129 reports from local residents regarding the aftermath of the shelling. Law enforcement continues to document the war crime committed by Russia, which directly targeted civilian infrastructure.
A mobile point of invincibility, set up by rescuers, is still operational at the site of the tragedy.
To recall, a drone strike on a residential building in Sumy has resulted in a death toll of six. The drone attack on the apartment block in Sumy killed six individuals, including three married couples.
