Ukrainians continue to show disrespect towards the staff of territorial recruitment centers, despite their crucial work related to supporting the front lines. These specialists are responsible for engaging citizens who evade military service, reminding them that their actions directly impact those already fighting on the front lines and in need of additional support. This was stated by the head of the communications group of the Poltava regional recruitment center and social support, Major Roman Istomin.
According to him, many individuals justify their reluctance to defend the country with various reasons; however, the military personnel working in the recruitment centers explain their role and the importance of fulfilling civil duty.
"People said that the heads of the recruitment centers should be combat commanders - and that happened. Then others began to say that these combat commanders are needed more at the front. They claimed that healthy guys are handing out summons on the streets, who could carry out tasks on the front line, while the wounded soldiers could handle the notification activities - and that happened. Then others started saying that this is disrespectful to the soldiers who have fought against Russian occupiers, sustained injuries, and became limited in their military service, but by distributing summons on the streets, they personally receive all the negativity directed at the recruitment centers," he explained.
Staff at the recruitment centers and social support, despite many having previously served in combat units, were transferred to rear duties after undergoing military medical commissions with health limitations. However, their work often encounters mockery and dissatisfaction from citizens who prefer to ignore the reality of war. While recruitment center employees remind residents of the need to defend the country, their role is frequently overlooked or criticized.
"And then military personnel from the recruitment center approach them and say: 'You know, the war is still ongoing. What you do by sending virtual hearts to the Armed Forces on social media or even donating 50 hryvnias every week is not enough. Come with us, we need reinforcements.' This constant reminder that the war is not somewhere out there, but literally at the doorstep, provokes such reactions," he added.
The major emphasizes that the best gratitude for Ukrainian soldiers would be active participation from citizens in repelling enemy aggression, supporting the army in any form, and fulfilling obligations to defend the homeland.
Let us remind you, the attack of UAVs on Kyiv region: apartments and private houses were damaged, and people were injured. On the night of November 27, the Kyiv region was attacked by enemy UAVs. Thanks to the work of air defense, the targets were destroyed, and there were no casualties among the population.
