Experts from GazPravda explained how to avoid unpleasant surprises in bills and why it is essential to report monthly readings.

One of the main reasons for excessive billing is the lack of data on actual gas consumption, which can significantly exceed real usage, especially if the residence is not occupied or temporarily vacant.

To avoid overpayments, Ukrainians are advised to submit their meter readings monthly from the 1st to the 5th. This will ensure accurate billing and prevent calculations based on estimated values.

Meter readings can be submitted in the following ways:

  • Personal account on the platform of the national operator Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine – suitable for subscribers with an appropriate contract.
  • Local operators: residents of Kyiv, Poltava, and Odesa regions should use the services of local gas distribution operators operating in the area.
  • For "Naftogaz" subscribers:
    • via the chatbot gas.ua in messengers;
    • by calling the call center;
    • by sending an SMS to 4647, indicating the account number and meter readings.

Thus, even if gas is not in use, it is crucial to report the meter readings. This will help avoid calculations based on estimated figures, which could lead to debt accumulation. These simple measures will reduce the risk of receiving inflated amounts on bills and help prevent unnecessary expenses on utility payments.
