However, it is possible to regain access to your profile if you act wisely and swiftly. A hacked account may go unnoticed, as fraudsters often maintain temporary access to extract maximum benefit.
Signs that may indicate a breach include automatic logouts from all devices, receiving notifications about logins from unknown devices, changes in messenger settings, or activity on unfamiliar gadgets. You can check all active sessions in the "Privacy and Security" section.
Most often, fraudsters use phishing techniques, creating fake websites and messages that closely mimic Telegram. They may also attempt to extract data by posing as acquaintances, sending malicious links, or guessing passwords.
If your account has been hacked, it is crucial to take action immediately. Try logging into the messenger from another device and terminate all active sessions through the settings. Change your password to a strong one that includes letters, numbers, and symbols, and enable two-factor authentication. If you cannot regain access, contact Telegram support.
If you are unable to log into your account, try doing so at night when the activity of fraudsters tends to decrease. You can also request a login code via SMS. If all attempts fail, you may need to delete your profile and block your SIM card, then proceed to recover it with your operator.
