SubscribeOlga Hakova, an energy security expert at the Atlantic Council, warned in a comment to Comments.ua that the situation at the plant is becoming dangerous, and the world can no longer wait.
Hakova believes that pressuring Russia to withdraw its troops from the territory of the nuclear plant is not only support for Ukraine but also a necessity to protect millions of Europeans. She is convinced that it is only a matter of time before a serious incident occurs at the plant while it remains in the hands of the occupiers.
The plant has already recorded over 150 serious safety violations – the risk level is critical.

She also praised the experts from the IAEA, who continue to work at the plant under challenging conditions, demonstrating courage and professionalism. However, the information they relay often gets lost due to poor communication, hindering decision-making.
The occupiers clearly do not care about the safety of the plant – and in the event of an accident, no one will win, Hakova concluded.
