Basic military training is mandatory for all students, according to the Ministry of Defense.

Basic military training is mandatory for all students at higher educational institutions, and those who do not pass the exam in this subject will not be allowed to continue their studies. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Sergey Melnik, as conveyed by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.   "I want to emphasize that it [basic military training] is compulsory for everyone, and if students cannot pass the exam or receive a failing grade, or if they refuse to take the military oath – they will not be able to continue their education at higher educational institutions in the future," said Melnik.   The Deputy Minister added that the course includes "a lot" of subjects related to military training.   It was previously reported that military mobilization and martial law have been extended in Ukraine.
