Starting January 15, 2025, a government program to support war veterans will launch in Ukraine. Participants in combat operations and individuals with disabilities resulting from the war will be able to submit applications through the "Dія" platform to receive assistance for sports activities.

SubscribeThe program includes financial support of 1500 UAH quarterly, which can be used to pay for services at sports clubs and gyms. Funds can only be spent on a cashless basis at institutions operating in the field of physical culture.
This initiative is part of an experimental project that will last for two years. Its aim is to help veterans restore their physical and psychological health through sports.

Participants can be war veterans defined in Articles 6 and 7 of the Law "On the Status of War Veterans," who are at least 18 years old and have a taxpayer registration number.
However, among social media users, there are already heated discussions about whether such minimal assistance will genuinely help injured soldiers, and whether the new initiative resembles more of a mockery by the state towards defenders than real support.
