Ukrainian supermarkets have adjusted prices on certain grains, pasta, and chicken meat. The amount consumers will need to spend on familiar products is reflected in monitoring data published on the "Minfin" portal.

The rate of price increases has slightly slowed down; however, this only applies to some grains and pasta—prices for meat are far less encouraging. According to forecasts from the National Bank of Ukraine, inflation is expected to rise in the first half of 2025, indicating that the current "calm" regarding prices is temporary.

Grain Prices

The average price of long-grain rice has remained unchanged compared to the previous month, at 58.20 UAH per kilogram. Round rice has seen a slight price increase, from 69.54 to 69.67 UAH per kilogram.

Buckwheat in Ukrainian supermarkets has not yet become more expensive. The average price remains stable at 33.02 UAH per kilogram. However, in some stores, it is still available for 28 UAH.

Pasta Prices

Pasta prices have decreased slightly, with the average cost dropping from 33.10 to 32.76 UAH per kilogram.

Chicken Prices

Prices for chicken meat are primarily on the rise. The average price for thighs has increased from 115.34 to 120.97 UAH per kilogram, drumsticks from 74.99 to 79.50 UAH per kilogram, and fillets from 173.22 to 176.97 UAH per kilogram. Meanwhile, the price for a whole chicken has remained stable at 85.60 UAH per kilogram.

Previously, the Znaй portal reported that prices have been on a "rollercoaster": lard, beef, and sausages have become almost delicacies.

Our portal also informed that price increases for products and services: should we expect any improvements in 2025?

Additionally, we wrote that the inflationary loop will tighten further: Ukrainians need to prepare for unaffordable prices.
