In Ukraine, some citizens are granted the right to pay for housing and communal services at a discounted rate.
For instance, this benefit may be available to participants in combat operations. This right is established by law 3551-XII "On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of Their Social Protection."
The state is willing to partially cover the costs of housing and communal services for individuals with the status of a combat veteran. The discount amounts to 75% within the established norms, meaning the consumer only needs to pay 25% of the service costs.
At the same time, combat participants who have disabilities are entitled to a 100% discount. This means that if consumption is within the established norms, the state covers all expenses.
The discount applies to the following services:
- electricity supply;
- gas supply and distribution;
- hot water supply and heating;
- cold water supply and wastewater disposal;
- household waste removal;
- management of multi-apartment buildings.
To apply for the discount, an individual must contact the Pension Fund of Ukraine, submitting an application either in person or by mail.
Among the necessary documents for applying for the discount:
- citizen's passport;
- document confirming the right to the discount (combat veteran certificate);
- identification code.
