The Pension Fund of Ukraine has clarified that blood donors can receive sick leave payments amounting to 100% of the average salary. This is possible if the donor has donated blood or its components free of charge within a specific volume over the year. Such assistance is provided in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Mandatory State Social Insurance."

Subscribe100% sick leave payment is available for donors who have donated two maximum doses of blood (450 ml each) or four doses of plasma within a year. This is regulated by Article 20 of the Law of Ukraine No. 931-IX "On the Safety and Quality of Donated Blood and Its Components," writes Sud UA.
To receive this assistance, the donor must provide a number of documents. In particular, this includes a copy of the certificate in form 435/o "Certificate of Benefits Provided to Donors," confirming the provision of benefits, as well as an additional certificate from the medical institution indicating the number of donations, doses, and dates, or a copy of the blood donor certificate.
These documents must be submitted to the insurer, who determines the amount of sick leave payment. A standard blood donation includes a maximum dose of 450 ml, as well as up to 40 ml of blood for testing, which are not counted towards the total dose.
