After the moratorium is lifted, the gas tariff for the population may significantly increase. This was stated by the head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services, Oleg Popenko, in a comment for the publication "UNIAN".

This scenario is possible due to the requirement from the International Monetary Fund to raise tariffs to market levels.
Oleg Popenko stated that considering the rising costs of gas transportation and the market price of fuel in Ukraine, the tariff for residential consumers could increase to 10-12 hryvnias per cubic meter in the coming years.

According to Oleg Popenko, this could be the price in the medium term.
Furthermore, the expert emphasized that the increase in tariffs could happen quite rapidly and unexpectedly for the population. If the parliament lifts the moratorium, the National Commission could decide to raise tariffs as soon as the next day.
