SubscribeThe reason for this decision was a new directive signed by the head of the Military-Civil Administration, Alexey Drozdienko. To not only raise fares but also improve service levels, the city council has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with transport companies.
According to the memorandum, the transport companies have committed to meet several important conditions:
- conduct major repairs on 15% of buses every six months – this will be monitored by the city council;
- establish a transportation schedule for the evening hours to make it easier for people to get home;
- equip all buses with GPS navigators and connect them to a special application so passengers can track the transport;
- install information boards at major stops;
- provide free rides for students in grades 1-4, military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and members of Territorial Defense Units.
To oversee the implementation of all these conditions, a special commission will be created consisting of representatives from the Regional Military Administration, the Military-Civil Administration, and the City Council, which will ensure that transport companies adhere to the agreements.
