Among the recipients of special pensions are 6,867 retired prosecutors, some of whom continue to hold positions while also receiving pension payments.

Special pensions are also granted to judges, former civil servants, law enforcement officials, and military personnel. As of the beginning of 2023, the average pension for prosecutors was 21,500 hryvnias, which is 4.5 times higher than the national average pension. Judges received even more - 96,000 hryvnias, which is 21 times the average figure.

Individuals affected by the Chernobyl disaster were receiving an average of 11,400 hryvnias at the beginning of 2023. Preferential pensions are also provided for workers employed in harmful working conditions.

According to the Ministry of Social Policy, out of 10.28 million pensioners in Ukraine, 780,200 people receive special pensions under various laws. For comparison, the average "regular" pension at the beginning of 2023 was 4,623 hryvnias.
