In the Vinnytsia region, a 57-year-old man received a summons to the Territorial Center for Staffing (TCC), despite the fact that his two sons are currently defending the country at the front.
This information is stated in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
However, he refused to appear for service, which led to legal proceedings.
Background
In June of last year, the man underwent a military medical commission (MMC), which deemed him fit for service. Subsequently, he was handed a summons, but he did not report to the TCC.
During the court hearing, the defendant acknowledged his guilt and expressed remorse. He explained that he declined mobilization due to poor health. According to him, the process of undergoing the MMC was "formal," and he lacked the funds for a thorough medical examination in Vinnytsia.
Details of the Case
The defendant noted that his wife passed away in 2017 after 11 years of paralysis. She had a first-group disability, and he took care of her by himself. He remained the sole support for his sons, who are on the front lines. He assured the court that he is trying to help them in every way he can.
Court's Decision
The court found the man guilty of evading mobilization but took into account the circumstances of his life and his genuine remorse. As a result, he was sentenced to two years of probation.
