Clients of "PrivatBank" continue to face various issues - one user lost over 8,000 hryvnias while attempting to top up her mobile account through the "Privat24" app.
The incident became known from data in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
A PrivatBank client tried to use the mobile application to replenish her account, but she was unable to launch it. Soon, an unknown caller contacted her, claiming to be from the "PrivatBank" voice chat. He informed her that funds were allegedly being withdrawn from her card and requested that she press "1" to cancel the transaction. Following the instructions, the client attempted to check her balance, but "Privat24" remained locked.
She was only able to regain access to the application with the help of bank employees, who informed her that her card account had a debt of 8,883 UAH.
This situation prompted the client to contact the police. Law enforcement conducted an investigation and forwarded the case to court.
The court sided with the victim and ordered "PrivatBank" to reimburse her 8,883 UAH along with compensation for inflation losses amounting to 669 UAH.
After examining the circumstances of the case, the court established the fact of unauthorized withdrawal of funds from the client's account and recognized her claims for compensation from "PrivatBank" as legitimate.
