He discussed this on the program "Personality with Sergey Doiko".
“The situation in Georgia is quite dramatic, and events are unfolding rapidly, particularly in the context of the protests taking place in the capital, Tbilisi. Clearly, we cannot yet predict what the consequences will be for the country, but we can definitely state that this nation is facing a challenging choice about its direction. In fact, the parliamentary elections have been dubbed a referendum on the future of the state: either Georgia aligns with the West or it aligns with the Russian Federation,” emphasizes Stanislav Zhelikhovsky.
As he points out, “The Georgian Dream,” which has been in power for 12 years, has won, but it has not secured a constitutional majority. However, it will still have the opportunity to influence the country’s decisions. The expert adds that the opposition forces do not recognize this victory and claim there were significant falsifications and manipulations, similar to the views from the West.
“Georgia may face challenging times ahead, considering the possibility of a forceful confrontation with the authorities. It is also not excluded that there may be new elections, but again, we will see how the Western world evaluates the situation. For now, various opinions are being voiced, including serious warnings from the U.S. Of course, for the Russian Federation, it would be crucial to maintain the 'Georgian Dream' in power and increasingly draw Georgia into its geopolitical orbit,” warns Stanislav Zhelikhovsky.
At the same time, he reminds us that after the Rose Revolution, Georgia chose a pro-Western course and achieved successes along this path, particularly in reforms. It was predicted that it would join the EU and NATO even faster than Ukraine, but the situation is now shifting in the opposite direction.
As reported by Politeka, Gallyamov stated that the involvement of North Korean troops on the side of Russia in the war against Ukraine indicates that Putin is losing.
Politeka also reported that Karasev explained how the West views victory: “To deal a strategic defeat to Russia”.
