The advance of Russian occupation forces in the Kupiansk direction clearly does not imply a crossing of the Oskol River and a breakthrough towards Kharkiv, as this is an unrealistic scenario.
This was stated by the commander of the first strike company of the "ACHILLES" battalion of strike UAVs, Lieutenant Anton Shmagailo, with the callsign "Bandera," in an interview with "Ukrainian Truth."
According to the serviceman, the occupiers plan to clear the Oskol bridgehead, approach the city of Izium, and then move towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Typically, significant cities like Sloviansk and Kramatorsk are not stormed head-on by the enemy; instead, they attempt to encircle them from the flanks, and currently, the Russian army is engaged in forming these flanks.
"But this is merely a hypothesis about a possible plan, the implementation of which will be extremely difficult. Because every meter of Ukrainian land, particularly in the Kupiansk direction, comes at an extraordinarily high cost," emphasized Anton Shmagailo.
The serviceman also noted that several powerful Ukrainian units are operating in the Kupiansk direction, and although they are outnumbered by enemy forces, we manage to destroy a significant amount of enemy armored vehicles almost every day.
At the same time, a large part of the thousands-strong "West" troop grouping from Russia is fighting against us, and they are very well-equipped.
