Russian occupation forces have achieved new successes in the area of Pokrovsk and Ugledar.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, hostile forces continue their offensive actions, aiming to secure strategic positions. In particular, geolocated footage has shown that the occupiers have advanced to the eastern outskirts of the settlement of Novotoretske, north of Aleksandropol, as well as towards the spoil heap of the Korochenko mine to the northeast of Selidove.

Analysts suggest that the capture of these settlements could enable Russian forces to establish a foothold for further encirclement of Pokrovsk. Lieutenant General and military expert Igor Romanenko expressed the opinion that Pokrovsk is the primary objective of Russian troops after taking Ugledar. He speculates that the Russians may attempt to encircle the city from the north and south.

Russian forces may escalate their offensive by employing a "slow encirclement" tactic, which allows them to capture territory without large-scale assaults, gradually cutting off Ukrainian units from their main supply routes and weakening Ukrainian defenses.

Roman Pogorely, co-founder of DeepState, also confirmed that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains challenging.
